Reformer Pilates uses a sprung resistance machine to build strength, improve posture, and increase mobility — without the joint stress of high-impact training. Every movement is controlled, full-body, and coached.

We keep class sizes to 10 deliberately so your instructor can see you, correct your form, and tailor cues to you. You're never just another body in the room.

What is reformer Pilates?
Never been on a reformer? Here's the short version — no jargon, no prior knowledge required.
A sliding carriage on a frame, with springs that add resistance or support. You work against them — lying, sitting, kneeling or standing. Looks odd at first; clicks after one class.
Low-impact and easy on your joints, but every position challenges your muscles. One class works your core, legs, arms, back and posture — all at once.
Around 45 minutes, capped at 10 people. Your instructor cues your form and sets the springs to your level — first class or fiftieth.
More resistance, a wider range of motion, and more support than the floor alone — which makes it ideal for injury recovery, postnatal and getting back into exercise.
The £49 3-class intro gives you time to learn the machine, meet the instructors and find your classes — before committing to anything. Most beginners only wish they'd started sooner.

The original — a blend of classical and contemporary reformer Pilates that builds core strength, improves posture, and increases mobility. Flows at a steady, challenging pace without being relentless. All levels welcome; the instructor adjusts the springs and cues for wherever you are.

Full-body strength. Endurance-driven flow.
A higher-intensity reformer session focused on building real strength through a sustained, challenging flow. Expect full-body work, more reps, and a stronger cardio response than the signature class. Push-to-your-limit energy, reformer precision.

Tone, define, and feel it.
A women-only class using the reformer alongside props and pulses to target smaller muscle groups that bigger movements miss. Expect controlled, deliberate work in the arms, glutes, and core. Low-intensity, high-precision.

Cardio on the reformer. Low-impact, high-intensity.
The jumpboard replaces the footbar, turning the reformer into a cardio machine. You push off the board instead of the floor — all the intensity of jumping with none of the joint impact. A genuinely different kind of class: breathless, energising, and surprisingly fun.

Movement made for you, wherever you are in your journey.
Specifically designed for pregnancy and postnatal recovery — each trimester and beyond. Works on pelvic floor, breathwork, and postural support. Your instructor understands where your body is and modifies every exercise accordingly. Supportive, safe, and genuinely restorative.

Reform YU's newest class — Hot Mat Pilates in an infrared-heated room. The heat deepens flexibility, increases circulation, and takes your body to a different level of work. Expect to leave stronger, sweatier, and seriously energised. Launching June 2026.

One room, built right. Our reformer studio holds up to 10 Align-Pilates machines — each session uses the full space, and every class is taught here. Warm, naturally-lit, and deliberately calm. The kind of space where you forget what's outside for 45 minutes.

Why we're here
Reform YU was founded by a Bolton-born professional footballer who turned to Pilates during recovery from a serious injury. What started as part of his own comeback became something bigger — a community built around one belief: that movement, done right, changes everything.

1:1 & Private sessions
Reform YU offers private 1:1 and 2:1 reformer Pilates sessions — booked directly with the studio via Instagram or email. Private sessions are ideal for complete beginners who want to learn the machine before joining a group class, those returning from injury, or anyone who prefers a personalised programme.
